The VHPD short engine is an ideal replacement for any 1.8 K series that has failed or requires stronger components for higher power outputs as the unit can easily handle an increased rev limit to 7800rpm and up to 200bhp
Components included within the VHPD short engine are:
New cylinder block
Forged pistons with up-rated piston rings
Stronger forged conrods
17% Stronger forged crankshaft
A grade piston liners
Water pump
Oil pump
Sump
Oil filter and housing
Vandervell heavy duty big end bearings
The short engine is ready for immediate fitment to the intended cylinder head and dress components to offer a cost effective alternative to people needing a stronger bottom end or direct replacement for VHPD engines.

The PTP 190 upgrade kit is suitable for pre 2001 VHPD engines with Rover MEMS ECU only and consists of four key components to increase power and mid range torque. The kit consists of our direct to head multi throttle inlet manifold, EFI ECU with unique tune, Interface link lead and an ITG Performance air filter.
Integral throttle butterflies, a reduced weight and an improved air by-pass system are the main benefits of the 2001 model year multi throttle manifold to that of the earlier twin KV6 VHPD style. A choice of filter styles are available dependant on the intended application.
The EFI ECU is pre programmed with our 2001 spec tune and when used with the interface link lead is a direct replacement for the MEMS ECU. Driveability is maintained as are emission regulations when used with the standard catalyst converter. The graph below illustrates the advantages to installing this kit but is best experienced when driving the vehicle especially on the racetrack.
